Kyle Filipowski shines in the Summer League and takes the MVP
Utah Jazz player Kyle Filipowski has made history by becoming the first player in the franchise to be awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the NBA Summer League. The announcement was made on Tuesday, marking a milestone in his promising career. Filipowski, a 6’11” power forward from Duke, proved his worth on the court, averaging impressive numbers over three games. He led the league in scoring with 29.3 points per game, adding 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. His shooting efficiency was notable, with a 56.1% field goal percentage and a 39.1% from the three-point line. His most outstanding performance in the Summer League took place on July 14 against San Antonio, where he accumulated 35 points and 11 rebounds, solidifying his dominance in the game.Filipowski seeks to leverage his Summer League experience as a platform for his second NBA season with the Jazz. In his rookie season with Utah, Filipowski participated in 72 games, starting 27 of them. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes per game. At the end of the season, Filipowski was one of only two NBA rookies to total more than 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.Obviously it’s different in the Summer League versus (the regular season). I’m trying to be myself out there right now. How that translates into the season, that’s how it will be. I’m going to make the most of it that way.
