ATLANTA – Anthony Edwards, a key figure for the Minnesota Timberwolves, starred in an unusual moment during the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. The incident occurred in the final quarter, when Edwards left the bench and the court during a timeout, with 7 minutes and 52 seconds remaining in the game. The Hawks were already dominating the scoreboard with a considerable lead. It seems Edwards disagreed with coach Chris Finch’s decision to take out the starters, given the wide margin on the scoreboard. After throwing his towel, the player retreated from the bench area.

Obviously frustrated with the performance and rightfully so, but he needs to stay on the court and support his team.

Chris Finch, Timberwolves coach
Edwards, who led his team with 30 points in the game, did not make any statements to the media after the match. Coach Finch, for his part, acknowledged that Edwards should have stayed on the bench. In the game, the talented guard scored 10 of 18 shots, including three three-pointers, in 33 minutes of play. Before the game, Edwards was ranked eighth in the NBA in terms of points per game average, with 29.1. This wasn’t the only recent controversial moment for Edwards, as he was also ejected in overtime of the game against Denver on Thursday, after scoring 44 points. It should be noted that the player, a native of Atlanta and former star of the University of Georgia, had the support of friends and family, including his grandfather, at Wednesday’s game.
