Kevin Durant Wins the 2024-25 Magic Johnson Award

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has been awarded the Magic Johnson Award for the 2024-25 season.

This prestigious award, granted annually by the Professional Basketball Writers Association, recognizes the NBA player who excels both on the court and for their cooperation and elegance in dealing with the media and fans.

Durant, who also won the award in the 2010-11 season playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, joins a select group of players who have been recognized with this award on multiple occasions.

We are very happy to honor KD again. Kevin has long been one of the most thoughtful and accessible stars in the NBA. He always has time for reporters, whether for official interviews or just informal chats, and he never shies away from any topic. He is as eager to delve into the details of a single play as he is to discuss broader issues facing the league. His passion for the game is always noticeable.

At 36 years old, Durant was selected for his fifteenth All-Star in the 2024-25 season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers finished second in the voting, followed by Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, and Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, who were also finalists.

The award is presented annually since 2001.
