Stephen Curry Jersey Achieves Record Figure in Private Sale

The jersey worn by Stephen Curry in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals, where the Golden State Warriors secured the championship, has been sold for an astounding $2.45 million. This amount sets a new record for a Curry jersey. This achievement marks Curry’s fourth title with the Warriors and his only Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the NBA Finals to date. The previous record was $1.758 million, paid last summer at an auction for the jersey Curry wore in his second NBA game, where he scored his first three-pointer. Barry Meisel, president and chief operating officer of the MeiGray Group, confirmed the sale. Meisel also noted that this is the only jersey Curry wore during the sixth game.

We have seen a significant increase in the last 12 to 18 months in private sales of this magnitude. Premium items are selling for multiples of what they were worth several years ago, and buyers and sellers prefer private sales.
