Stephen Curry Out for 10 More Days

The Golden State Warriors announced this Wednesday that their star, Stephen Curry, will be out of the courts for another 10 days due to persistent problems in his right knee. This decision will extend Curry’s absence to at least five more games. The player has already missed the last 15 consecutive games due to what the team describes as patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as “runner’s knee”, which usually involves swelling and pain around the kneecap.

Despite having advanced to on-court work in recent days, which represents a significant step in his comeback attempt, Curry has described the problem in his right knee as “unpredictable”, already experiencing setbacks since the injury initially arose during an individual workout in Minneapolis on January 24. Initially, he hoped to return just after the All-Star break, but he reduced his on-court work after it didn’t respond as expected.

The Warriors have lost three consecutive games, including back-to-back defeats against the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz. They currently have a record of 32-33, falling below the LA Clippers to ninth place, and it seems increasingly likely that they will face a play-in game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Curry will miss Friday’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well as next week’s games against the New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons.
