Stephen Curry Suffers Thigh Injury and Leaves Game
MINNEAPOLIS – Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors star, was ruled out for the remainder of the first game of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a left thigh strain.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s game. Curry, after scoring a 13-foot floater, grabbed his leg and requested medical attention. Although he remained in the game for a short period, he was eventually substituted and went to the locker room.
The team confirmed the absence of its star in the second quarter. Curry left the first game with 13 points, while the Warriors were leading the score 30-20.
Curry’s absence, if it extends beyond the first game, would be a hard blow for Golden State. In the first-round series against the Houston Rockets, Curry averaged 24 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in the seven games.
The series against Minnesota presents a tight schedule, with only one day of rest between games 1 and 5. However, there will be three days of rest between games 5 and 6.
Curry, 37, was already playing with a thumb injury on his shooting hand.
