Cooper Flagg, Mavericks Rookie, Will Miss Game Against Knicks Due to Illness

Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg will not be able to play in Wednesday’s home game against the New York Knicks due to an illness, according to sources.

Flagg, the first overall draft pick, was added to the injury report on Wednesday morning, along with forward Caleb Martin, and did not participate in the team’s practice.

Despite dealing with pain in his left shoulder and a sprain in his right thumb that has forced him to wear a splint recently, Flagg had started in every Mavericks game, who have a 4-11 record.

The 18-year-old player averages 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
