Cole Anthony Agrees to Deal with Bucks After Agreement with Grizzlies

Player Cole Anthony has reached an agreement for the termination of his contract with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks once the waiver process is complete, according to sources. The Grizzlies finalized the agreement with Anthony’s representatives, Jeff Schwartz and Javon Phillips of Excel Sports, on Saturday. Anthony, who is about to begin his sixth season in the NBA, is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Bucks. The Grizzlies acquired Anthony, along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, four unprotected first-round picks, and a first-round pick swap in the trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic. Anthony, known for his scoring ability, averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in five years with the Magic. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. The Grizzlies have been working with Anthony’s representatives to reach a solution that allows him to find a new team and create space for Memphis to renegotiate and extend Jaren Jackson Jr.’s contract.
