Coby White to Miss Next Few Weeks with the Bulls

Chicago Bulls guard Coby White will be out for at least two more weeks, missing the start of the regular season against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. The information was confirmed by the team on Monday. White is still in the recovery phase from a right calf strain, suffered during a training session in August. Although he had participated in his first training session on Saturday, after the start of the training camp, the player stated that he needs to improve his physical condition. The team has reported that White will continue with his activities on the court and is progressing in his recovery process. In the previous season, 25-year-old White established himself as one of the team’s most important offensive players. He averaged 20.4 points and 4.5 assists per game, with 45% field goal accuracy and 37% from the three-point line, in 74 games played. Furthermore, White is in the final year of his $36 million contract and will be able to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. During his absence, Tre Jones and Ayo Dosunmu have been starters at the shooting guard position during the preseason.
