Los Angeles Clippers’ Derrick Jones Jr. Suffers Knee Sprain

Los Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. has suffered a sprain of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee and will be reevaluated in six weeks. Jones, 28, had started in all 13 games this season and was averaging 10.9 points per game, a career high, before the injury suffered on Sunday in Boston. The player was helped off the court after falling and grabbing his right knee following a collision in the second quarter of Los Angeles’ 121-118 defeat. Jones was trying to reach a loose ball and collided with Boston’s Jaylen Brown. Brown’s arm hit Jones’ leg. Jones grabbed his knee as he fell to the ground and rolled in pain before slowly getting up and being helped off the court, barely putting any weight on his leg. Brown was called for a foul on the play. Injuries are piling up for the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard missed his seventh straight game with a sprained ankle and foot, and Bradley Beal suffered a hip fracture that will sideline him for the season on November 8.

It’s difficult. It’s one after another. You just try to keep your head on straight, focus on what you can control, and go out there and win games. Hopefully, the guys will start coming back sooner than expected.
