Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke to Undergo Procedure for Knee Synovitis

Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Brandon Clarke will undergo a procedure to treat synovitis in his knee and is expected to be re-evaluated in six weeks.

Clarke missed the last month of the 2024-25 season due to a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprain, from which he has fully recovered without the need for surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery, but will miss at least the first few weeks of the regular season.

Knee synovitis is a problem that affects the lining of the knee joint.

Throughout his career, Clarke has dealt with several lower body injuries. In addition to this latest problem and the MCL strain, he ruptured his left Achilles tendon at the end of the 2022-23 season and missed most of the following year.

The 28-year-old player participated in 64 games last season, averaging 8.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 18.9 minutes. He still has two years and 25 million dollars remaining on his contract.
