Los Angeles – Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns star, was ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a right groin injury, the team reported.Booker played the first 10 minutes of the first quarter before being substituted, with Phoenix losing 27-26. The player scored 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting, as well as three assists and two rebounds.Before the game, Booker had participated in Phoenix’s 21 games, leading the Suns in points (25.7) and assists (6.9).
Without Booker on the court, the Suns rallied, outscoring the Lakers 35-21 in the second quarter and going into halftime with a 66-52 lead.
The Suns, under coach Jordan Ott in his first year, have had a season start with a 12-9 record, positioning themselves in seventh place in the Western Conference before Monday’s game.
