Anthony Edwards, star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, has made history by becoming the third youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 points. The achievement was realized on Thursday night, when Edwards made a 13-foot jump shot from the baseline against the Cleveland Cavaliers. At 24 years and 156 days old, Edwards was only surpassed by LeBron James and Kevin Durant in terms of precocity. Edwards joins a select group of seven players who achieved this feat before turning 25, including names like Kobe Bryant, Luka Doncic, Tracy McGrady, and Carmelo Anthony.

To be honest, it’s great, but I know I have a lot more ahead, so it’s really nothing, really.

In the game against the Cavaliers, Edwards scored 25 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. The Timberwolves achieved season records in field goals (57%) and three-pointers (53%). Coach Chris Finch highlighted the ease with which Edwards scores, recalling his first 40-point game in his rookie season. Edwards, selected in the 2020 draft, debuted at 19 years old. He reached 10,000 points in 412 games, being the seventh fastest active player to achieve it. Only two other players have reached 10,000 points with the Timberwolves: Kevin Garnett and Karl-Anthony Towns.
