Aaron Gordon, significant absence for the Nuggets

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has suffered a Grade 2 strain in his right hamstring and will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks. The injury occurred during Friday’s win against the Houston Rockets. After undergoing an MRI on Saturday, the severity of the injury was confirmed.

This injury represents the second significant loss for the Nuggets, as Christian Braun will also be out of the courts for at least six weeks due to a sprained ankle suffered on November 12.

Gordon, who had an outstanding start to the season, averages 18.8 points and a three-point percentage of 44.4%, career-high figures. He is one of seven players averaging 15 points with a shooting percentage of 50-40-85.

In Friday’s game, Gordon was already experiencing hamstring discomfort. In addition, during the Western Conference semifinals last season, he played the seventh game against the Oklahoma City Thunder despite suffering a second-degree strain in his left hamstring.

The Nuggets, who have reinforced their roster in the preseason, will now have to test their depth. Peyton Watson is expected to take on a more important role at the forward position, along with the key additions of Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas.

The Nuggets (12-4) are currently in second place in the Western Conference, behind the Thunder (16-1).
