According to Major League Baseball’s prize structure, each of the 20 teams that qualified for the tournament secures an initial sum.
For just participating, each team receives $300,000.
As teams advance in the tournament, the amounts increase considerably.
The teams that reach the quarterfinals (second round) get an additional $400,000.
The selections that manage to reach the semifinals secure an extra 500 thousand dollars.
For the teams competing in the grand final, an additional million dollars is awarded.
In short, a team that reaches the final could accumulate around $1.9 million in incentives for their progress in the tournament.
Additionally, the champion team receives a prize of three million dollars, which is distributed among the members of the national team and their federation.
The prize distribution is as follows: 50% is divided among the players, while the other 50% goes to the national federation.
