Excitement at the San Cristóbal Superior Basketball Tournament 2025
San Cristóbal was the scene of a vibrant day of the 2025 Superior Basketball Tournament last Friday, December 6th, with two matches that kept the fans on the edge of their seats. The Lobos de Canastica and Ciro Pérez teams took crucial victories, demonstrating the high level of competition that characterizes this tournament.
Canastica Wolves vs. Pueblo Nuevo Hornets
The first game of the night saw the Canastica Wolves face the Pueblo Nuevo Hornets in a duel full of intensity. The Wolves prevailed with a score of 92 to 88, thanks to an outstanding performance by their reinforcement, Juan Rosario. Rosario achieved an impressive double-double with 40 points and 17 rebounds, becoming the key figure of the match. Edgar Tejeda also contributed with 22 points, strengthening the Wolves’ offense.
On the Hornets’ side, Luis López scored 23 points, while Héctor Cordero achieved a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, although their efforts were not enough to secure the victory.
Ciro Pérez vs. Laguneros
In the second game, Ciro Pérez faced the Laguneros de Madre Vieja Norte, achieving a close victory with a score of 89 to 86. Kelvin Furcal, reinforcement of Ciro Pérez, led the team with a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds, consolidating his reputation as one of the most consistent players in the tournament. José “Tongo” Corporán also shone with a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds, contributing experience and control in the paint.
Despite the resistance of the Laguneros, Ciro Pérez managed to secure the victory in an exciting finish.
