Wimbledon 2025: A Tournament with Historic Rewards and Technological Advances

The prestigious Wimbledon tennis tournament has announced an unprecedented prize money for its 2025 edition. The total will amount to 53.5 million pounds sterling, which is equivalent to approximately 73 million US dollars. The champions of the individual categories, both male and female, will receive a record sum of 3 million pounds (4 million dollars).

“We are immensely proud of the sustained growth over the last ten years. We have listened to the players, and this 7% increase in 2025 is a testament to that.”

Deborah Jevans, President of the All England Club
This increase represents 3.5 million pounds more than in the 2024 edition, and doubles the amount delivered a decade ago in the same tournament. Even players who are eliminated in the first round will benefit, receiving 66,000 pounds, 10% more than the previous year. This increase in prize money comes at a time when players are demanding a more equitable distribution of revenue generated by Grand Slam tournaments. Jevans acknowledged that the debate on this issue continues. Wimbledon 2025 will also mark a technological milestone. It will be the first Grand Slam to replace line judges with an electronic calling system, thus modernizing the tournament experience. The championship will take place from June 30 to July 13, bringing together the best tennis players in the world in London.
