Dominican outfielder Víctor Robles has had his suspension reduced from ten to seven games, after appealing the sanction imposed for an incident in the minor leagues. During his rehabilitation process, Robles threw a bat at pitcher Joey Estes, in a moment of frustration.

The Major League Baseball (MLB) announced the decision this Friday. This means that the Seattle Mariners player will miss the next week of competition. The team will not be able to replace him on the roster, which will leave the franchise with only 25 players available at a crucial moment in the season.

Robles, who recently returned from a shoulder injury that kept him out for more than four months, has participated in 14 games in 2025, with a .246/.267/.298 average in 60 plate appearances. This discreet performance contrasts with his outstanding 2024 season, when he batted .328 in 77 games, which secured him a two-season contract extension for 9.75 million dollars.

The Mariners will face the Cleveland Guardians this weekend in a key series for the American League Wild Card race. The manager will have to adjust his strategy with a reduced bench and the absence of Robles. Dominic Canzone and Luke Raley will cover right field while they await the Dominican’s return after serving his suspension.
