Venus Williams Longs for Serena’s Return to Tennis
American tennis player Venus Williams, winner of seven Grand Slam titles, is preparing for her return to the Washington tournament at the age of 45. The veteran player expressed her wish that her sister Serena Williams, who retired from tennis in 2022, accompany her on the court. Venus, who is returning to competition after 16 months of inactivity thanks to an invitation, will debut against her compatriot Peyton Stearns.During a press conference in Washington, Venus revealed that Serena’s presence on the court would be the ideal setting for her return. “We always play tennis, because it’s who we are, we’re always hitting the ball. It’s a great cardio exercise,” he continued. “I always tell my team, the only thing that would make it better would be if she were here, as we always did, so of course I miss her. But if she comes back, I’m sure she’ll let you know,” she concluded. Recently, Serena Williams posted a video playing tennis, which Venus interpreted as a possible reaction to her own return to competition.I don’t ask those questions, I don’t ask her that (if Serena is going to return). I am her biggest fan. I never wanted her to retire. I knew she would, and it took me time to accept it.
