COLIMA, MEXICO – The Dominican Republic women’s volleyball team continues to be unstoppable in the XXII Pan American Cup, securing their second consecutive victory this Monday. The Dominican team dominated Venezuela in three sets (25-18, 25-10, 25-21), maintaining their undefeated record in the tournament.
Court Domination
The “Queens of the Caribbean” demonstrated their superiority from the start of the match. In the first two sets, they displayed a forceful offensive game, led by setter Camila de la Rosa, who distributed the ball effectively among her teammates. The synchronization with the middle blocker Jineirys Martínez was key, taking advantage of opportunities both in the center and on the sides.
Brayelin Martínez and Gaila González led the Dominican attack, scoring 15 points each. Jineirys Martínez also had an outstanding performance, adding 10 points to the scoreboard.
Brenda Castillo, who debuted in this edition of the Pan American Cup, showed a good performance in her return to the team.
Venezuela Resists
In the third set, Venezuela offered greater resistance, with Nelmaira Valdez standing out with 11 points. However, the Dominican Republic managed to maintain control of the game and secure the victory.
The statistics reflect Dominican superiority: 44% effectiveness in attack versus 30% for Venezuela. In addition, the Dominican team dominated in blocking (9-3) and committed fewer fouls (18-8).
Next Challenge
The next match for the Dominican Republic team will be this Tuesday at 10 PM (Dominican time) against Colombia, in a match between undefeated teams (2-0).
