Houston, United States secured its spot in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic after defeating Canada with a score of 5-3 in an exciting quarterfinal match. The game, witnessed by more than 38 thousand fans at Daikin Park, marked a milestone in the competition.

The team of the stars and stripes will face the Dominican Republic in the next phase, in a duel that promises to be epic and will be played in Miami.

The right-handed pitcher Logan Webb was the undisputed star of the game, dominating from the mound for 4.2 innings without allowing runs. His performance included only four hits, one walk, and five strikeouts, setting the pace of the match.

The United States took the lead from the first inning. A walk to Bobby Witt Jr. and a double by Aaron Judge set the stage for a ground ball by Kyle Schwarber to drive in the first run.

The advantage increased in the third inning, thanks to a defensive error that allowed Alex Bregman to drive in two runs, extending the lead to 3-0.
