Karl-Anthony Towns leads the Knicks to a resounding victory over the 76ers
Santo Domingo – Karl-Anthony Towns once again demonstrated his worth in the paint, leading the New York Knicks to an impressive 138-89 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The match highlighted the clear superiority of the New York team on both sides of the court.
The Dominican player, Towns, accumulated 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in just 26 minutes of play. His performance was fundamental to the dominance that the Knicks established from the start of the game. Towns scored 8 of 13 field goals, including a three-pointer, in addition to adding a block and a steal.
The Knicks’ offense was a collective effort. José Alvarado, recently added to the team, led the scoring with 26 points, coming off the bench. Mikal Bridges contributed 22 units and Mohamed Diawara finished with 14 points. Jalen Brunson, usually an offensive pillar, had a less outstanding night with eight points in 30 minutes.
New York shone with its fluidity in ball handling, recording 41 assists, and demonstrated great effectiveness by achieving 53% in field goals and 45% from the three-point line.
From Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey was the standout player with 32 points, although his effort was not enough against the intense rival defense. The 76ers had a low shooting percentage, with 38% accuracy in field goals and 19% from long distance. The team also felt the absence of Joel Embiid, who did not participate in the game due to rest in his knee.
In the battle for rebounds, the Knicks outperformed the 76ers with a score of 51-38, with Towns leading this aspect of the game.
This victory reinforces New York’s good form, which demonstrated depth, offensive efficiency, and defensive solidity in one of its most complete performances of the season.
