Toros del Este Protest Against Game Against Águilas Cibaeñas
SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced this Friday that the Toros del Este filed a formal protest after Thursday’s game at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium against the Águilas Cibaeñas, corresponding to the Round Robin of the 2025-26 tournament.
The protest was filed within the regulatory timeframe of twelve hours after the end of the game, complying with article 23 of the Tournament Regulations.
LIDOM has already communicated the content of the protest to the Águilas Cibaeñas, granting them a period of twelve hours to present their defense.
Once the documentation from the Águilas is received, the LIDOM presidency will have three hours to issue a final decision, which will be definitive.
Due to deadlines, the resolution may not be available before the matches scheduled for this Friday.
Any changes in the Round Robin standings will depend on the final decision regarding the protest by the Toros del Este, information that was already shared with all franchises.
La Liga reaffirmed its commitment to compliance with the regulations and the transparency of the tournament.
