Toros del Este Strengthens with Michael Mariot for the Postseason
La Romana, Dominican Republic – Los Toros del Este continue their preparation for the postseason with the incorporation of right-handed pitcher Michael Mariot, as announced by the team’s general manager, Jesús Mejía.
This will be Mariot’s fifth season in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), and his second with the Toros del Este. Previously, the pitcher has defended the colors of the Tigres del Licey and the Gigantes del Cibao.
In his career in the LIDOM, Mariot presents a 1-0 record with an ERA of 3.38 in 34 games, including three starts. In 37.1 innings pitched, he has allowed 32 hits, 14 runs, has given nine walks and has struck out 34 batters, limiting opponents to a .227 average.
During the 2025 season, Mariot played for the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A team of the Seattle Mariners, in the Pacific Coast League, where he recorded a 4-4 record and accumulated 52 strikeouts in 69 innings of work.
The pitcher also has experience in the Major Leagues, having played with the Kansas City Royals, the Philadelphia Phillies and, more recently, with the Cincinnati Reds in 2023.
Michael Mariot was included in the active roster of the Toros starting Monday and will be available for his debut, as determined by the coaching staff led by manager Víctor Estévez.
