Toros del Este Strengthen with Michael Mariot for the Postseason
The Toros del Este continue to bolster their roster for the postseason, as announced by the club’s general manager, Jesús Mejía, this Monday.
The Romanense ninth adds right-handed pitcher Michael Mariot to its ranks.
This will be Mariot’s fifth season in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), and the second with the Toros.
Previously, the pitcher defended the colors of the Tigres del Licey and the Gigantes del Cibao.
In his career in the LIDOM, Mariot exhibits a record of 1-0 with an ERA of 3.38 in 34 games, including three starts.
In 37.1 innings pitched, he has allowed 32 hits, 14 runs, nine walks, and has struck out 34 batters, limiting his opponents to a .227 average.
During the 2025 season, Mariot pitched for the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, in the Pacific Coast League, where he accumulated a 4-4 record and 52 strikeouts in 69 innings of work.
The pitcher has experience in the Major Leagues, having played for the Kansas City Royals, Philadelphia Phillies and, more recently, with the Cincinnati Reds in 2023.
Michael Mariot was included in the active roster of the Toros as of this Monday and will be available to debut when determined by the coaching staff led by manager Víctor Estévez.
