Toros del Este Bolster Rotation with Aaron Brooks
La Romana – Los Toros del Este continue to strengthen their starting pitching staff with the addition of experienced Major League player Aaron Brooks, as announced by the team’s general manager, Jesús Mejía. Brooks, a right-handed pitcher, has a distinguished career in professional baseball. Executive Mejía expressed his optimism with the arrival of the player.In the 2025 season, Brooks participated in minor leagues with the Athletics, where he pitched 87.1 innings and achieved 66 strikeouts. In addition, he participated with the Generales de Durango in Mexico, accumulating 25 strikeouts and only 8 walks in 38 innings. Brooks also had brief appearances with the Tigres del Licey in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, with a 2-1 record and an ERA of 0.00 in 9.2 innings, although he acted as a reliever. Brooks’s signing joins those of Matt Dermody and Tyler Eppler, who will also be part of the starting rotation. Additionally, relievers Joe Corbett, Tanner Kiest, R.J. Alaniz, and catcher Ronaldo Hernández join as imports announced by the team so far. The Toros will continue their preseason games this Wednesday, facing the Estrellas Orientales at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium at 5:00 pm.
