TJ Watt, Steelers Star, Hospitalized for Lung Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced this Thursday that their outstanding defensive figure, Trent Jordan (TJ) Watt, was hospitalized after suffering a lung injury during the team’s training.

“TJ Watt is currently at a local hospital for a medical evaluation of his lung after experiencing discomfort at the training facility. Coach Mike Tomlin will offer more details in due course,” the franchise noted in a statement.

Watt, 31, has been a fundamental pillar in Pittsburgh’s defense since his arrival on the team in 2017. Throughout his career, the linebacker has accumulated impressive achievements.
  • Seven Pro Bowl selections.
  • Four All-Pro designations.
The player shares the record for most sacks in a season with Michael Strahan, with 22.5, solidifying himself as one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL. In the current season, Watt has 53 tackles and seven sacks in 13 games.

El equipo informó que Watt estará ausente de los entrenamientos mientras continúa bajo observación médica, lo que pone en duda su participación en el próximo partido contra los Miami Dolphins.

Throughout his career in the NFL, Watt has recorded an outstanding performance.
  • 515 tackles.
  • 115 sacks.
  • 36 forced fumbles.
  • 14 fumble recoveries.
  • Eight interceptions.
  • 56 passes defended.
  • One defensive touchdown in 134 games.
In addition to the shared record for catches in a season, he also holds the record for most seasons leading the league in catches (3) and is the only player to achieve this in consecutive years.
