San Cristóbal, August 5, 2025 – The Southern Titans are one step away from making history in the National Basketball League (LNB), after taking a 3-0 lead in the final series against the Metros de Santiago. One more victory would secure their second consecutive undefeated championship and the third in the history of the franchise, solidifying their position as a powerhouse of Dominican basketball. The San Cristóbal team already proved its worth last season by defeating the Reales de La Vega 4-0, becoming the first team to win a final without defeats since the creation of the league (formerly known as LIDOBA). On that occasion, Richard Bautista (Manito) was named Most Valuable Player of the series. Now, facing the Metros, the Titans seek to repeat the feat and consolidate their dominance in the league.
An unprecedented achievement
If the Titans achieve victory, they will become the only team to win two consecutive finals without losing a single game, a milestone that would place them at the top of the annals of the LNB.
The success of the Titans has been based on the talent and leadership of their key players:
- Richard Bautista
- Jassel Pérez
- Luis David Montero
- Jhonatan Araujo
These players have been fundamental on both sides of the court, surpassing the Metros de Santiago in the first three games of the series.
History or Resistance?
The opportunity to secure the championship arrives tomorrow, with the possibility of entering Dominican basketball history. However, the Metros will seek to avoid the sweep and force an additional game.
Will the Titans be able to consecrate themselves as the only team to achieve two consecutive titles without defeats in finals, or will the Metros avoid the celebration?
