Thunder Blow Out Lakers in Semifinals Game One

Oklahoma City Thunder demonstrated their power by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 108-90 in the start of the Western Conference semifinals.

Even though Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t have his best night, with 18 points, the Oklahoma team showed its depth and control of the game to secure the victory.

Oklahoma’s defense was key, limiting the Lakers’ offensive options.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, with an impressive 71% field goal percentage. However, his performance was not enough to counteract Oklahoma’s collective play.

The absence of Luka Dončić, the season’s top scorer, continues to affect the Lakers’ offensive performance. Austin Reaves also had a difficult night, scoring only 8 points.

After a promising start led by LeBron, the game shifted in favor of Oklahoma. Chet Holmgren led the attack with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Pistons Surprise Cavaliers in the East

In the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons broke a 12-game playoff losing streak by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers with a score of 111-101 in the first game of the series.

Detroit’s defense was fundamental, limiting figures like James Harden and Donovan Mitchell, who combined for 10 turnovers.

Cade Cunningham led the offense with 23 points and 7 assists. Tobias Harris contributed 20 points and 8 rebounds, while Jalen Duren was key in the closing with 11 points, 12 rebounds and outstanding defensive plays.

Detroit had a lead of up to 18 points, but Cleveland reacted in the last quarter thanks to Harden. However, Duren’s response, with a block and several dunks, secured the Pistons’ victory.
