Teóscar Hernández on the radar for changes: What does the future hold for the Dominican outfielder?

The name of prominent Dominican outfielder Teóscar Hernández has resurfaced in discussions about potential offseason market moves. Although conversations exist, a deal involving the star hitter doesn’t seem imminent, according to recent reports.

Hernández is coming off a regular season where he demonstrated his power by hitting 25 home runs, adding five more in the postseason. His offensive performance, especially in crucial moments, continues to be his main appeal to interested teams.

However, Hernández’s defense has raised certain concerns. His -9 Outs Above Average (OAA) in 2025 placed him among the last in his position, an aspect that could influence the valuation of some clubs.

Despite this, the lack of impact right-handed hitters on the market could keep Hernandez as an attractive piece for organizations looking to strengthen their offense.

Regarding his contract, Hernandez has an agreement that includes salaries of US$12 million for 2026 and US$14.5 million for 2027, with US$8 million deferred in each year, in addition to a team option for 2028 with a buyout clause. Although it is a contract with several details, it is not considered a major obstacle for teams looking to add power to their lineup.

For the moment, conversations continue in a preliminary manner, with no signs that the Dodgers are close to finalizing any move.
