TBS Higüey 2025: Semifinals kick off this Saturday with San Francisco and more

HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA – Club San Francisco secured its place in the semifinals of the 50th Superior Altagraciano Basketball Tournament (TBS Higüey 2025) after defeating San José with a score of 102-96.

This crucial triumph granted them the last qualifying ticket and positioned them in third place in the standings with a 5-5 record.

In the next phase, San Francisco will face Savica (6-4) in the B semifinal series, a best-of-five games (5-3) matchup.

The competition was fierce, as San Francisco, Centro, and Cambelén finished the regular season tied with 5-5. However, Cambelén was left out due to the tie-breaking criteria based on point difference.

The B semifinal series will begin this Saturday at 7:20 PM. Simultaneously, the A series, which involves the Antonio Guzmán (6-4) and Centro clubs, will start at 9:00 PM, also with a best-of-five games format (5-3). Both matches will take place at the Leo Tavárez sports complex in Higüey.

The performance of San Francisco was driven by Oscar Montero, who led the offense with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Jorky Mota contributed 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists. Roel López also stood out with a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.

In addition, Luis Feliz contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Leoanny Reynoso added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

From San José, Brailyn Reyes scored 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Bryan Ramírez, the capital’s reinforcement, achieved 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists. Steven Brito contributed 19 points and 9 rebounds, and Albert Reyes added 8 points and 10 rebounds.

In another match, Cambelén defeated Centro with a score of 79-77, thanks to Nathanael Bonet’s 30 points and Adonys López’s double-double, who accumulated 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.

For the Center, Kerry Richardson scored 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Albert Fernández achieved 20 points, and Alexander Henríquez added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

The tournament is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), under the presidency of the deputy Jorge Tavárez, and is dedicated to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.
