San Francisco Secures its Place in the TBS Higüey Semifinals
HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA – San Francisco Club conquered the last spot for the semifinals of the 50th Superior Altagraciano Basketball Tournament (TBS Higüey 2025) after defeating San José with a score of 102-96.
This crucial victory positions San Francisco in third place in the standings with a 5-5 record. In the semifinal phase, they will face Savica (6-4) in a best-of-five series (5-3).
San Francisco, Centro and Cambelén finished the regular round tied with 5-5. However, Cambelén was left out due to the tie-breaking criteria by points difference (goal average).
The B semifinal will begin this Saturday at 7:20 p.m. The A series, which will pit the Antonio Guzmán (6-4) and Centro clubs against each other, will start at 9:00 p.m., also in a 5-3 format. Both matches will be held at the Leo Tavárez sports center in Higüey.
In San Francisco’s triumph, Oscar Montero stood out with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, and Jorky Mota, who contributed 26 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Roel López achieved a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Luis Feliz, a capital reinforcement, added 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Leoanny Reynoso contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds.
By San José, who was eliminated, Brailyn Reyes scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bryan Ramírez, the capital’s reinforcement, had 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Steven Brito contributed 19 points and 9 rebounds, and Albert Reyes added 8 points and 10 rebounds.
In another match, Cambelén defeated Centro with a score of 79-77, thanks to Nathanael Bonet’s 30 points and Adonys López’s double-double, with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Kerry Richardson, from the Center, scored 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Albert Fernández contributed 20 points, and Alexander Henríquez, with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
The tournament is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), under the presidency of deputy Jorge Tavárez, and is dedicated to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.
