Reinforced Security Device for the TBS 2025
The Organizing Committee of the Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District (TBS 2025) has announced a robust security plan for the 49th edition of the most important sporting event in the Dominican capital. This security deployment aims primarily to ensure order and tranquility throughout the competition. The Ministry of Defense, through Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, has approved the participation of 50 members of the Armed Forces to provide direct support for the security of the tournament. The National Police, under the direction of Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, will deploy a large contingent of agents to maintain order in the vicinity of the Ricardo -Gioriver- Arias Volleyball Palace, before, during and after each match.The General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett), led by Pascual Cruz Méndez, will also participate with a special team of agents to expedite traffic on the avenues and streets near the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, as well as in its internal accesses. The security scheme is complemented by the hiring of private security, which will collaborate with the National Police for internal control in the sports facility. The coordination of the security area of TBS 2025 will be in charge of Anderson Uribe Berigüete, National Police captain Miguel Omar Quirico Hernández and police colonel Martín de Jesús Bernard Rodríguez. The Ministry of Sports will also provide its support, providing its own control and protection team at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
