Puerto Plata Vibrated with the Summer National Baseball League All-Star Game

The Summer National Baseball League (LNBV) All-Star Game marked a milestone in Dominican baseball history. The event, which took place on Saturday, August 23rd at the José Briceño stadium in Puerto Plata, brought together the top figures of summer baseball in an unforgettable day. The celebration included the exciting Home Run Derby and the highly anticipated All-Star Game, offering a top-tier sporting spectacle.

Luis González Crowned at Home Run Derby

The Home Run Derby kicked off in the afternoon, with the participation of the home run leaders from the six teams in the league. The competition culminated with the victory of Luis González, from the Reales de Santiago and a member of the Patria team. González won in the final against Junior Sanquintín, from the Granjeros de Moca, representing the Libertad team. The winner received a cash prize of RD$ 30,000.

Team Freedom Dominates All-Star Game

The highlight of the day, the All-Star Game, saw the Libertad team, made up of the Granjeros de Moca, Bravos de La Vega and Mineros de Bonao, defeat the Patria team with a resounding shutout of 7-0. The Patria team was made up of the Reales de Santiago, Arroceros de San Francisco de Macorís and Atléticos de Puerto Plata.

Acknowledgements and Special Moments

The opening ceremony featured a special recognition of the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, for his support of the season’s development and the event’s realization. General Jorge Luis Galán, of the National Police, had the honor of performing the honorary launch.

Daury Arias, the Most Valuable Player

Daury Arias, player for the Granjeros de Moca, stood out in the match with a three-run home run and a walk. His outstanding performance earned him being chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the match, receiving a prize of RD$ 30,000. As part of the celebration, all players, coaches, and directors received a participation medal courtesy of LOGOMARCA. The official broadcast of the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game was handled by VTV Channel 32.
