Kelvin Cruz Highlights Progress for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

The Minister of Sports of the Dominican Republic, Kelvin Cruz, has highlighted the progress in the preparations for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, a sporting event that will be the country’s main venue. Cruz shared details during his participation in activities related to the World Baseball Classic, where he expressed his satisfaction with the support of Dominican fans and the atmosphere of unity around the sport.

“First I want to greet you all and tell you that I am very happy to be here supporting the Dominican team in this World Baseball Classic, sharing with so many capable people and with a clean track record in sports reporting and information,” said the official.

Furthermore, he revealed that, in conversations with the commissioner of Major League Baseball (MLB), the response of the Dominican public was highlighted, which could open the door to more international baseball events in the country. In this regard, Cruz indicated that conversations are being held for the construction of a new stadium that meets the standards of Major League Baseball and international baseball.

“I believe that MLB should be seriously considering bringing more games to the Dominican Republic, not just for the Classic, but also for exhibition games,” he expressed.
