Juan Soto Imposes His Will at Nationals Park

The Dominican outfielder Juan Soto once again demonstrated his power at Nationals Park, but this time as a rival, hitting his 31st home run of the season in the New York Mets’ victory over the Washington Nationals.

Soto’s hit, which traveled 408 feet and left the bat at a speed of 107 miles per hour, was the product of a pitch by left-hander Konnor Pilkington in the seventh inning.

The Mets’ offensive didn’t stop with Soto’s home run. Jeff McNeil, Mark Vientos, and Brett Baty also hit home runs, completing an offensive day that left the Nationals’ pitching without an answer.

The New York team dominated the match from start to finish, showing a fiery lineup that took advantage of every opportunity.

With this victory, the Mets remain in the fight for a Wild Card spot in the National League and are 5.5 games behind the first place in the East Division, occupied by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Soto, who was a key figure for the Nationals and a fundamental piece in the conquest of the 2019 World Series, continues to demonstrate his ability to shine even against his former team, solidifying his star role in the Mets’ lineup.
