Queens, NY – Juan Soto, the Dominican outfielder, once again demonstrated his worth at Citi Field this Friday, hitting his eighth home run of the season and driving in two runs. This outstanding performance contributed to the New York Mets’ victory over the Chicago Cubs with a score of 7-2, marking the beginning of a three-game series.

Soto hit his home run in the fourth inning and added a run-scoring single in the eighth, raising his RBI total to 19 so far this season. The Mets’ offense was relentless, with each of the starting batters recording at least one hit in the game.

Francisco Lindor, from Puerto Rico, also played a crucial role, starting the offense with a solo home run in the first inning. Brett Baty and Jeff McNeil added more power by hitting back-to-back home runs in the second inning, solidifying the Mets’ offensive dominance, who improve their home record to 14-3.
