London – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner was seen training this Wednesday with a protection on his right elbow, an area that suffered discomfort during the round of 16 match against Grigor Dimitrov.

The world number one, after undergoing medical tests on Tuesday and training on a private court, chose to test himself with this protection before his quarter-final match against Ben Shelton, scheduled for this Wednesday.

Sinner, who has yet to get past the semi-final stage at Wimbledon, spent 50 minutes on the Aorangi courts training. He faced a left-handed player, similar to his next opponent, Shelton.

During the practice, the tennis player executed all the essential strokes, including exchanges from the baseline, volleys, returns, and serves, without overexerting himself, as is usual in warm-ups.

His coach, Darren Cahill, issued a reassuring message to the public on Tuesday, in an interview where he assured that Sinner was doing well, although he admitted a slight decrease in the speed of his forehand.
