Jannik Sinner Modifies His Coaching Team Before Wimbledon
London – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, currently number one in the world in the ATP ranking, has made significant changes to his technical team prior to the start of Wimbledon, as could be seen during his training session on Thursday.
Marco Panichi, physical trainer, and Ulises Badio, physiotherapist, are no longer part of Sinner’s team. Their absence from Thursday’s practice on the center court, added to the confirmation from Sky Italia, indicates the departure of both professionals.
Both Panichi and Badio have extensive experience in the professional circuit. Previously, they collaborated for several years with Novak Djokovic, recognized as the tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles in history and currently number six in the world.
The incorporation of Panichi and Badio into Sinner’s team took place at the end of last year, following the departure of Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi. This decision was made after Sinner was sanctioned by WADA with three months due to a double positive in Indian Wells 2024.
These changes in Sinner’s team come after his recent defeats in the Rome and Roland Garros finals, both against Carlos Alcaraz, and his elimination in the second round in Halle against Alexander Bublik.
Sinner is scheduled to make his debut at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, this Tuesday, facing his compatriot Luca Nardi.
