Jannik Sinner Advances Forcefully at Roland Garros

Italian Jannik Sinner, current world number one, continues his unstoppable run at Roland Garros after defeating Russian Andrey Rublev with scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 6-4. With this victory, Sinner secures his place in the quarterfinals for the third time in his career.

Sinner, who has demonstrated absolute dominance on the court, has lost only 30 games so far in the tournament. His performance stands out even more considering that this is his first Grand Slam after a three-month break.

In the next phase, Sinner will face Kazakh Alexander Bublik, number 62 in the world, who surprised by defeating Jack Draper.

Against Rublev, Sinner achieved his 72nd victory in a Grand Slam tournament, surpassing Fabio Fognini and solidifying himself as the Italian tennis player with the most wins in the ‘open’ era, at the age of 23.

With his eighteenth consecutive victory in a Grand Slam, Sinner equals figures like André Agassi, Boris Becker, and Mats Wilander, positioning himself among the best in history. The record is held by Novak Djokovic, with 30 consecutive victories.

Sinner’s performance on clay has improved noticeably, as evidenced by his recent participation in the Rome tournament.
