Jannik Sinner advances to the Mutua Madrid Open final

Madrid – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, currently number one in the world, demonstrated his excellent form by defeating Frenchman Arthur Fils with a score of 6-2 and 6-4, securing his place in the final of the Mutua Madrid Open for the first time in his career.

Sinner displayed a dominant game, especially in the first set, establishing a clear superiority. Although the second set was more contested, the Italian achieved a crucial break in the ninth game, which allowed him to secure the victory in one hour and 29 minutes.

This victory extends Sinner’s winning streak, putting him one step away from making history. He could become the first player to win five consecutive Masters 1,000 titles, adding to his recent triumphs in Paris, Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo.

Additionally, this victory represents the 350th in Sinner’s career, joining legends like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer in reaching finals in the most prestigious tournaments of this category.

His next opponent in the final will be defined in the match between the Belgian Alexander Blockx and the German Alexander Zverev, the latter, already a two-time champion of the tournament.

Despite the defeat, Fils, who arrived undefeated on clay this season, showed flashes of his talent, consolidating himself as a promise on the circuit after overcoming a back injury.
