Santo Domingo – The Volleyball Association of the National District (Asovodina) held an exciting youth tournament this weekend, where the clubs Varias Luces and Futuro Voleibol Club stood out by obtaining the highest honors.
Club Varias Luces Champion in Men’s
In the men’s division, the Club Varias Luces was crowned champion after a close match against the National District Development Program, which they defeated 2-1 (17-25, 25-20 and 15-13). The third place went to the Club María Auxiliadora, who surpassed the second team of the National District Development Program with a score of 2-1 (17-25, 25-22 and 15-11).Future Volleyball Club Dominates in Women’s
In the women’s category, the Futuro Voleibol Club team demonstrated their dominance by winning their third consecutive title, after defeating Club Varias Luces with a score of 3 sets to 1 (25-10, 25-12, 22-25 and 25-18). The Naco Club obtained third place by defeating the Cachorros de Cristo Rey team with a score of 2-0 (25-22 and 25-13).The tournament featured the participation of 36 teams and was held on the open volleyball courts of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. The outstanding players of the tournament were Joan Hidalgo and Marialys Gerónimo. Among the participating clubs were: Club Ajapro, Azulito, Varias Luces, Claret, Naco, Los Cachorros, Arroyo Hondo, Alice, María Auxiliadora, San Pedro, among others.We are highly grateful to God and each of the teams that participated in our youth tournament, proving that we have a great replacement in this discipline since we were able to see many young people who have great potential to be national teams.
