Sergio Ramos reactivates his interest in buying Sevilla FC

The renowned defender Sergio Ramos, after his departure from Rayados de Monterrey, has once again expressed his desire to acquire Sevilla FC. This intention was stated during a meeting with key shareholders of the Seville club. The player, with a distinguished past at Sevilla and Real Madrid, traveled to Seville last Thursday to talk with representatives of the main shareholders. This informal meeting suggests a renewed interest in acquiring the club. By the end of 2025, Ramos had already shown his interest in the purchase, submitting an offer along with a group of investors. At that time, the club was in negotiations with an American fund. According to sources close to the matter, Ramos and his partners’ proposal exceeded 400 million euros. However, an exclusivity agreement with the American fund delayed any progress.

Following the withdrawal of the first US fund, the families that own Sevilla began negotiations with a second US investment fund.

The club’s priority, according to what has been leaked, is to sell to a foreign buyer. This was evidenced by the rejection of the offer from the Sevillian businessmen Antonio Lappí and Fede Quintero. Sergio Ramos, accompanied by lawyer Julio Senn, met with representatives of the Carrión and Alés families, advised by lawyer Pérez Solano, to reactivate the operation. At the meeting, Ramos obtained the commitment that his offer would be considered if negotiations with the second US fund do not prosper. The current negotiations are expected to reach a conclusion soon, as the potential buyer has validated the analysis of Sevilla’s economic situation carried out by the first interested group.
