Sedofútbol U-17 Women’s team thrashes and leads Concacaf 2026 qualifier

Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic Women’s U-17 National Team continues its successful participation in the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers 2026, achieving a resounding victory over the U.S. Virgin Islands with a score of 11-0. The match, played on Monday at the Miguel “Chocorrón” Buitriago Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua, saw Giocarla Durán stand out as the figure of the match, scoring five goals to lead the Dominican offense.

Total Domination on the Playing Field

Under the direction of coach Luis “Bolocho” Lluberes, the Dominican team demonstrated its superiority from the start. Goals by Jazmyn Díaz (penalty), K. Osorio (own goal), Emelie Asenjo, Delilah Ramírez and Gia Fernández completed the rout. In its first two matches, the Dominican Republic has demonstrated remarkable offensive power, scoring 18 goals and keeping its goal intact, without receiving yellow cards. With these results, the Sedofútbol Under-17 Women’s team leads Group A with six points and an impressive goal difference of +18, followed by Nicaragua, also with six points (+15). Belize, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Dominica have yet to score any points. The Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers features the participation of 29 teams, divided into six groups. The first places of each group and the two best second places will advance to the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship, the final phase of the pre-World Cup. Canada, United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico are already directly classified by ranking. The next match of the Sedofútbol Women’s U-17 will be on Friday, January 30 against Belize, and they will close the group stage on Sunday, February 1 against the host team of Nicaragua. Both matches will be played at 9:00 p.m. (Dominican Republic time) at the Miguel “Chocorrón” Buitriago Stadium.
