Santiago revalidates title in North Interassociations golf tournament

Sagolf Wins its Fourth Title in the North Region Inter-Association Tournament

Santiago, Dominican Republic – The Santiago Golf Association (Sagolf) reaffirmed its supremacy by winning the champions’ trophy for the fourth time in the IV North Region Inter-Association Tournament. The event, which took place this weekend at the Las Aromas golf course in Santiago, was organized by the Dominican Golf Federation with the support of Mastercard Banreservas. The representatives of the “Heart City” demonstrated their dominance once more, accumulating a total of 164.8 points. They surpassed the Puerto Plata Golf Association, which scored 135.3 points, and the La Vega Golf Association (LVGA), who finished with 131.75 points.

Individual Top Results

In the individual categories, Sagolf golfers shone with the following performances:

• Ladies A: Stephanie Kim, with 82 strokes.
• Senior B: Jaime Liriano, with a score of 77 strokes.
• Category C: José Clase, with 80 strokes.
• Category AA: Luis Fernández, leading with 71 strokes.

La Vega also had its moment of glory with Gamar Dumit, who stood out in category A, achieving the best score of the tournament with 68 strokes, two under par. Puerto Plata won in the following categories:

• Category B: Jorge Luis Castillos, with 82 strokes.
• Senior A: Juan Taveras, with 81 strokes.
• Ladies B: Karina Batista, with 97 strokes.

Franklyn Diaz, executive of Mastercard Banreservas, offered words of welcome to the participants, highlighting the benefits that Mastercard cards offer to golfers. The IV North Region Inter-Associations Tournament was supported by Mastercard Banreservas and the collaboration of Café Bustelo, Cervecería Vegana, and Ron Bermúdez.
