Santiago Metro to the 2025 LNB final: Indios eliminated, they go for the title

In an exciting match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Metros de Santiago achieved a crucial victory against the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís with a final score of 100 to 98. This triumph secures their place in the final of the National Basketball League (LNB) 2025. With this victory, the Metros are preparing for their eighth final in the history of the league, where they will seek to add their sixth championship. The match, which took place at the Mario Ortega Sports Center, was an intense battle that was decided in the final seconds. The strategy of coach Melvyn López, combining youth and experience, proved key to the victory.

Key Figures in the Metros’ Victory

Omar “El Mariachi” Silverio led the Metros’ offense with 19 points, including five decisive three-pointers, two of them scored at critical moments in the final quarter. Adris De León had an outstanding performance with 16 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds. Jhery Matos scored 15 points and 4 rebounds, while Víctor Liz added 14 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Juan Guerrero achieved a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, in addition to 4 assists. Jordan Geronimo contributed 10 points off the bench. The Metros team showed an excellent collective performance, with 49% field goal effectiveness, 14 three-pointers made out of 31 attempts (45%), an impressive 92% from the free throw line (12 of 13) and 24 assists.

The Indians’ Resistance

The Indios, led by Juan Miguel Suero, who accumulated 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, fought until the end, tying the score with 25 seconds left with a three-pointer. However, the Metros responded with determination in the final play, after a timeout requested by coach López. Luismal Ferreiras also stood out for the Indios, with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Edgar Sosa scored 12 points, while Ramón Galloway and Michael Bryson contributed 10 points each.

The Grand Finale: Metros vs. Titans

The Santiago Metros will face the Titanes del Distrito Nacional in the final series, which will be played in a best-of-seven format. The first encounter is scheduled for this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Gran Arena del Cibao doctor Óscar Gobaira, home of the Metros.
