A New Strikeout Record

In Monday’s 5-2 loss, Alcántara became the second pitcher with the most strikeouts in Marlins history, surpassing Josh Johnson and placing only behind Ricky Nolasco. This achievement adds to a distinguished career that includes a National League Cy Young Award in 2022, the first for the franchise.

It’s something big. Having my name on that list makes me happy, but I don’t want to be second. I would love to be number one.
