SANTO DOMINGO – The outstanding right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcántara, of the Miami Marlins, has successfully completed the necessary procedures to join the Dominican Republic team that will compete in the next World Baseball Classic.The 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner, already participated with the Dominican team in the 2023 WBC, demonstrating his commitment to the country.In the season leading up to the tournament, Alcántara stood out in MLB by leading in innings pitched, complete games, and shutouts, establishing himself as a high-performing starter.Despite suggestions to focus on rest and take care of his professional career, the pitcher chose to represent his country, reaffirming his dedication.Along with Alcántara, Fernando Tatis Jr., Oneil Cruz, and Cristopher Sánchez have also been confirmed for the Dominican roster, adding talent to the team.
