Salcedo FC Wins Against Moca FC in a League Match
In a vibrant match corresponding to the sixth day of the Liguilla of the Dominican Football League, Salcedo FC achieved an important 0-1 victory against Moca FC. The match, played at the Moca 85 stadium, kept the fans on the edge of their seats with a close score and multiple scoring opportunities.
The goal that defined the match came in the 39th minute, thanks to a powerful shot by Jorge Comas from approximately 20 meters. This goal momentarily silenced the stadium and secured the crucial three points for the visiting team.
Moca FC, although they started the match with impetus, encountered a solid rival defense and a goalkeeper in excellent form. Cristin Severino, goalkeeper for Salcedo FC, became a key figure by stopping several dangerous attacks during the first half.
In the second half, Moca FC intensified their offense in search of a tie. Junior Jiménez, Juan Ángeles, and Sergio Ventura tried to break through the visiting defense, but without success. Luck was not on the home team’s side, as several goal attempts were frustrated by the defense or by a lack of precision.
Rauly Martínez and Yohan Parra also generated clear opportunities, but the goal eluded them. Jiménez even hit a shot on the crossbar, evidencing the bad luck of the Moca team on this day.
The Salcedo FC, for its part, knew how to remain calm and defend the advantage obtained in the first half, securing a valuable victory in this phase of the competition.
The next commitment of the team led by the Argentine Jorge Alfonso will be on Sunday, February 22, when they visit Cibao FC in the seventh matchday. The match will take place at the stadium of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, starting at 6:00 in the afternoon.
