George Russell Conquers Singapore in an Epic Race
In an exciting night race at the Marina Bay circuit, British driver George Russell, representing Mercedes, took the victory at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix. This was the eighteenth race of the world championship.
Russell, who started from the privileged position, demonstrated his skill by obtaining his fifth victory in Formula 1, the second so far this year. The competition was characterized by the high temperatures and humidity of the circuit.
The Dutch Max Verstappen, four-time world champion, secured second place, followed by Lando Norris of McLaren. The McLaren team, with this result, mathematically secured the constructors’ title, with six races still to go.
Spaniard Fernando Alonso, aboard his Aston Martin, finished in eighth position, while his compatriot, Carlos Sainz, obtained tenth place.
Oscar Piastri (McLaren) placed fourth, followed by Italian debutant Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) in fifth place. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton completed the positions.
Oli Bearman (Haas) was in ninth position, just ahead of Sainz and behind Alonso.
